HISTORY OF BARANGAY SONGCULAN
SONGCULAN got its name by the Lord’s BLESSING. Luckily, SONGCULAN is blessed with running water coming from the cave. Flowing, outside, disturbing to the grasslands, to the small rice fields, to the “kasaksakan”. The “SAKSAK” leaves are very useful in
house roofing. And it would pass through the coco lands.
Recalling the past and thinking of the future makes the great difference. Previously, the original flow of the water was totally strong and very noisy, that can be heard somewhere a kilometer away, but at present noise of the water has nothing to do. Last time, as you went nearer, seems to be raining all the times. From the very start of its recovery, there were men who went inside, and upon the doorway of the cave they were unable to stand properly due to the strong current of water passing by. As they went inward, their head would reach at the top covering of the cave and the noise is likely raining. THAT’S WHY THIS LOVING AND HOSPITABLE BARANGAY NAME SONGCULAN.
